Picking Grape Leaves

The family from whom we rent came back to visit for the weekend. They live and work in Baku, keeping the family home in Samaxi for weekend outings and rental income. While here, they decided to pick grape leaves. Grape leaf dolma is very popular throughout the year and apparently late May, early June, is the harvest season.

The woman on the left is my teaching partner and the other woman owns our home. They were sorting the grape leaves and putting them in the before pictured stacks. My teaching partner lives right next door and has know our landlord's family her entire life.
